Google has stated that it would like to see all websites on the internet be https:// (secure) pages.
Zen Cart "out of the box" only makes the login, create account and checkout pages SSL. The rest of the site is non SSL until you hit one of those pages.
In order to have the site be all SSL there are a few changes that have to be made, such as modifying configuration files and .htaccess files. If you have the XML Sitemap generator installed (which EVERYONE should have!!), then we will also update your sitemap to the new URLS. To test if you have the XML sitemap generator installed simply go to your domain and at the end add /generator/ and if you see a 404 page not found you will know you don't have it.
If you would like for us to do this for you, please first DOUBLE CHECK and make SURE your site is not already that way. The way to test is to go to http://yourdomainnamehere.com and then click on a product. If it goes to httpS://, then you are golden. If it stays http:// - then you may want to consider having us change that for you.
While the urls indexed by google would be http://, they said you might temporarily see a change in your rankings by changing over to SSL on the complete site, but it would just be temporary as it reindexes the site. (this is why it is very important to have a robots.txt file and the XML Sitemap generator.
