Summer Special and Authorize.net change
Authorize.net and Akamai We have received word that Authorize.net is switching to using Akamai services to interface with their current system in order to avoid future downtime when they are performing maintenance actions and updates. Because of the seamless way they're implementing the changes, you could easily make NO changes to your Zen Cart files and things will work just fine.  There may be a delay and some downtime when they do updates, but that should be minimal and probably not any different from what your site already experiences. To see if you are using Authorize.net, in...

USPS 5/31/15 Update
USPS Shipping Module for Zen Cart USPS has released a new update for those of you who use USPS shipping on your website.  (to check if you use USPS, in your admin mouse over Modules, click on Shipping and see if there is a green button to the right of USPS). While I am sure the following list is in no way comprehensive, below are some of the changes I have dug around to find: This update includes rate increases and changes to Extra Services (EG:  certified mail, insurance, etc.) First class domestic package rate has increased. PayPal Phone Calls and Emails on POODLE SSLv3
PayPal has been calling and emailing all of it's customers regarding the 12/3/14 deadline for making sure their retail websites have had the POODLE SSLv3 fix applied. Unfortunately, some of the PayPal CSR's are saying something to the effect that "we scanned your site on the 21st and it is not compliant". This is simply NOT TRUE. After speaking with two people from PayPal today, both indicated to me that they do not have the capability of "scanning" your website. They both indicated that they were "on a campaign" to call all customers to make them aware...

Paypal Poodle Fix Deadline 12-3-14
PayPal just announced the following: "On October 14, 2014, details were released about a vulnerability to version 3 of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL 3.0). Since that time, PayPal has been hard at work to mitigate any potential impact to our consumers and merchant customers. " "To help mitigate risk associated with this vulnerability, PayPal will discontinue support for SSL 3.0 on December 3, 2104 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Unfortunately, this necessary step may cause compatibility problems resulting in the inability for customers to pay with PayPal on your site or other...

9/7/14 USPS Shipping Module Update
USPS has come out with new coding for API calls, which is what Zen Cart uses to retrieve shipping quotes. This new API coding will start being used on 9/7/14. Quote from the USPS website: "The Web Tools APIs will be moving to a new platform where data validations will more closely adhere to the published technical specifications. In some cases, improperly formatted XML values that are accepted currently will result in error responses on 9/7. While we have taken steps to make this transition backwards compatible, we strongly recommend testing your API integrations to avoid issues on 9/7."...
