Late last night, the Zen Cart developers released a new version of Zen Cart - 1.5.6C which includes the security patch above and also bug fixes and security fixes.

One of the good things in this latest version that I am hoping will work is Improvements to anti-spam for account creation and contact-us forms.  People have been getting inundated with bogus account signups and having their contact form spammed by robots.

If you use coupons a lot (like I do), you will be happy to see that in the latest 1.5.6 version coupons can now be restricted to amount of an order or of a specific product, restricted to customers having a specified number of previous purchases and also restricted to products not on sale.  They have also added a Coupon Usage Report.

The latest version now has a "Keep Alive Timer" box that will pop up if you have been inactive for a certain period of time and you can click a button to stay logged in instead of getting logged out and possibly losing the data you might have been entering in for a new product or a new EZ Page, etc.. If you see it quickly enough, it works great!  Otherwise you will still get logged out, due to PCI Regulations
